We've made it two weeks..

Cant believe that we hit the 2 week mark on Tuesday, feels like I've been here so much longer ! So today has already been a long day and its only 2.55pm, we had to get up at 5am to go to get our social security numbers, which was soooo boring. Then we got back and slept until like noon then came to the pool, which is where I am now :) nice chilling day! Yesterday, magic kingdom was open 24hours as it was a leap year, we went but left at 1am as it was SO busy and we had to get up stupidly early, but we managed to get on peter pan and buzz ride :) But before, Me, Sophie, Mike & Had went to Disneys Polynesian resort, we watched wishes on the beach, drinking sangria, then had a meal which was yummy :)


So I've started work, trained on the podium now and having fun,  its so hot already though and its the start of march - god knows how I'm gonna deal with it in the summer! But its fun, and wearing the costume isn't as bad as I thought as everyone is in it - but I'm dreading starting in chippie on Sunday wearing that hat - its horrid! 


I've had quite a busy week at work so we haven't really been out that much, but on Saturday we went to this bar called Cowboys which was so funny. It was such a redneck bar,  you paid $8 to get in and it was free beer from 10-1pm, and everyone was line dancing haha! Then on tuesday, we went to this bar on the board walk after work called Jelly Rolls - had such a good night! I can't wait to take my famo & friends there when they visit, it has two dualing pianos and you write your requests on napkins and they play them - also they do massive cocktails in 32oz red cups for $11! 


Only a quick update today as I want to get back into the sun, I'm still having such a good time here, made some really good friends and as much as I'm enjoying work, I look forward to days off to go out etc :)  I'm still not missing home, but I miss everyone so much - but thank god for iMessage so I can speak to them all the time for free which makes it easier! :)

Mad Cab Drivers, Early Mornings & Frozen Milk...

So, looks like I finally made it in the US of A, only been here 5 days and literally haven't stopped hence the lack of blogs! So on Valentines day we went to Gatwick so I could catch my flight, and man was I upset. I was sitting in Costa with mum, dad & Laura and checked my facebook and that was it - I was off, everyone's messages we're so sweet, so thank you all for them :) I met the Sophie at departures, and we had our emotional goodbyes with our familys, and walked through passport control crying - we did get some funny looks haha then met Dip & Mel. Treated myself to come Armani Diamonds black edition at the airport, then we boarded! We flew Virgin, and it was amazing, never have I had such good food on a plane, had pasta and then later on we all had High Tea - very posh. 

After a long flight,2 hour queue to get through passport control and another 40minutes for our bags, we finally arrive in Disney at about 8pm USA time and we knackered. We had this little welcome meetings, then the nerves set in - we were finding out where we're living. So most applicants on CRP live in the commons, I was first up and saw I was housed in Patterson - I was gutted and freaking out I was alone. BUT...then it turns out everyone else was in Patterson (minus Dip & Dan who were housed with their friends) and it turned out I was roomed with Sophie :D :D :D soooo chuffed! So we finally got back to our apartment,moved in but our house mates (who arrived on the same day) wasn't home, so we went on our way to Commons to meet Dip to go Walmart. We met a few of the UK pavilion guys then someone called us a cab to take us - well this is truly where the fun began...


The cab driver was this guy called Kojak, after the old TV program which none of us watched but anyway...inside his taxi he had loads of Disney cast members badges on the roof, and loads of football scarfs. Then he started banging out all these Disney facts e.g. Did you know Goofys orginal name was Dippy the Dog, then he whacked out a karaoke machine lool - was SO random! But now we use him all the time as he's cheap (and amazing)! So we got to Wamart at like 11pm, all basically zombies because we'd nearly been up 24 hours and it was horrible, couldn't decide on bedding etc - but we finally came  got everything including some breakfast for the morning. Soooo next morning I get up, pour two bowls of cheerios for Soph & I - then I'm like errr where's the milk!? Opened the freezer - and yep, she had put it in the freezer and it was frozen solid LOL, she still hasn't lived it down!

It was Dans birthday, so we went to his club in down-town Orlando called Chillers, and they had like Slush Puppie cocktails for $1 and they were good! Again though, there was 10 of us and the cabbie was like dw all squash in to a 7 seater (so we did) then when he got out, he had a bloody broken foot!!!! (was funny as we were drunk but a bit worrying)


We all went to Universal studios (I cant remember the date, all the days have merged into one) but we got our annual passes for $202 which I thought was a bargain - gonna get the most out of that badboy - plus our Disney passes! Anywhoo, Wizarding world of Harry Potter= there are NO words, like literally its amazing. Soph & I barged kids out of the way to get in, then squealing and hitting each other with excited haaaa but LOVED it. Cannot wait to go back and have a proper in depth look - and go on the ride again, it was AMAZING!!!!!



Moving on, we've now finished classroom training at Disney University , which was fun being in there but mostly boring. However we was in this class called Traditions, where you basically learn about Walt Disney Company and its quite fun, then there was a knock on the door and Mickey came in - was so Surreal! Then we went on this little tour of Magic Kingdom which was fun, walked up through the tunnels which was so weird! Then we got our nametags and Disney passes - so officially can get into the parks for free! We went to Magic Kingdom that night and watched Wishes, which was my first time and it was soooo good - then we went on pirates, small world & space mountain, didnt leave until 12pm!

 

Anywhooo, today we've just been training still, went to Epcot and had free fish and chips (yum). Got our discovery today tomorrow, so we walk around the whole of Epcot and then get our costume - eewwwww, not looking forward to this - and pictures will probably not follow! Then start officially in Epcot on Wednesday, I'll be working on the podium outside the pub on my first day, training to be a seater :)


Just chilling out for a minute back at the apartment, having a bud light lime yummy, then a few of us are gonna head over to downtown Disney to have a few drinks! Really enjoying myself atm, met some amazing people and having a blast lol! I'll try keep this updated,but there's so much going on here its hard to find time!

My last weekend in Essex..

I've just got in from an amazing Indian with all my lovely friends so I thought a new post would be necessary! As its my last weekend in the UK for quite some time, I've been very busy seeing everyone before I go. So on friday I went to my aunt & uncles, stuffed my face with pasta and TWO courses of pudding (chocolate cake & apple crumble) which was yummy but man did I feel ill after haha!! On Saturday it was Nadines birthday and all the girls went clubbing, gutted I couldn't go cos money is tight but they had a good time :). So instead we had our close family friends & my uncle over. Had such a good night chatting, catching up and taking ridiculous photos on Photobooth haha - but again it came with another round of goodbyes :(

Back to today, I've just been running around sorting my last bits out - went to lakeside for the last time for a while, it was soo busy which makes me not want to miss it much haha! So I saw my uncle again, he come round to say bye which was lovely, but I'm gonna miss him lots, but luckily we can Skype and stuff unlike when he went travelling - it was literally just phone or email!

So I saw the girls (and Blaine) tonight, we went to an Indian in Grays which was yummy and they had put some good luck banners up which was cute! I had such a lovely time, we all had a good laugh, I'm so lucky that I've got such a good group of friends (who I will miss soooooo much). The girls got me some lovely gifts and a massive goodbye card that had hamsters with googly eyes on it haha. So they bought me some home essentials in the form of Dairy Milk, Paxo Stuffing and of course Monster Munch <3. Also, some grey toms which I wanted, Dollars $ and the most amazing Cath Kidston Bag for the plane, its vintage style with all UK badges over it - I LOVE IT :) 

So now I've said my goodbyes to them which was sad, and at the minute I'm feeling rather emotional about it all but it will be ok!

So now the real countdown starts, tomorrow is my last day in the UK, I'm planning just to chill with my family - which I haven't really mentioned - which is why I just want to say I'm going to miss my sister, Mum & Dad so so so much but would like to thank them for all their support throughout the process, love you!

So I've made a Blog..

Hi guys :) 


So, I'm off to work in Epcot in Walt Disney World in Florida for a year, leaving on Tuesday - Valentines day (ergh). All my family have been bugging me to do a blog to document my year, so I gave in and here we are - plus it will be nice to look back in years to come and relive the magic :)


I still cant really believe I'm going, It still hasn't really sunk in, I'm sure it will at the airport though - I'll be a mess haha! What I have found since applying is there is such a lot of support on facebook/forums from previous, currents and prospective applicants which is really helpful, and through those I have become pretty good friends with a few, and we're flying together - which is great (not as daunting). So I'm flying with Dippy, Sophie & Melissa, from Gatwick at 1pm - which is a respectable time to commence drinking :)


I wish I had started this a little bit earlier to go through the application process,its pretty easy and you get a lot of guidance along the way! However If anyone who's thinking of applying needs any help let me know.


So now I'm into the final days before I go, I'm having lots of goodbyes and dinners out which is lovely. I had my leaving party last saturday which was great, it was Disney fancy dress (of course) and everyone really made the effort with their costumes, I had such a good night and I hope everyone else did too :) Will miss you all very much.

I went saw some of my work friends on weds night, we had a yummy chinese and played logo (Dan & I won - YAY). Met up with Lucy & Jackie last night for Nandos, again yum, seeing my uncle tonight, close family friends tomorrow and then a yummy indian with my friends on Sunday. And I need to finish packing in this time lol!!


Anyway, just thought I'd give a bit of an update to whats happening at the moment, hopefully will post a lot more once I'm stateside, just need to work out how to get my head around this blogging business!
